A founding partner of The Agency, Jonathan Ruiz ranks among Los Angeles's top-producing agents and has been consistently ranked in the highest percentage of agents in the United States. During his relatively short career in real estate, he has garnered more than $200 million in sales volume and set neighborhood records for price per square foot, all while impressing high-profile clientele with his unparalleled negotiating skills, discretion, professionalism, and command of the luxury market.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, where he graduated from Harvard-Westlake School and UCLA, Jonathan brings acute local expertise from years spent representing clients from the Eastside to the coastline. His real estate prowess, however, does not know geographical limits, as he has recently worked with clients to buy and sell homes in Ojai, Newport Beach, Palm Springs, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Even as his purview expands and business consistently grows year over year, Jonathan remains focused on providing each one of his clients with white-glove service, enthusiastically helping them navigate the process of buying or selling a home and prioritizing their desires at every step. "I'm most excited by the trust my clients put in me and I go above and beyond to do what's best for them," he says. While his portfolio boasts an extensive list of impressive transactions, Jonathan sees each one as a meaningful relationship that doesn't end once escrow closes.
As a lifelong Angeleno in real estate, he champions support for those experiencing homelessness, serving on the LA Family Housing (LAFH) Board of Directors. As a co-chair of the LAFH Golf Tournament and host of their annual Home Together event, he has helped raise millions of dollars for the organization and a cause close to his heart. Prior to finding his passion in real estate, Jonathan established a storied career in entertainment, working his way up from the mailroom to Talent Agent at Creative Artist Agency (CAA), launching and managing the careers of several big names in the business. Just before joining The Agency, he served as Vice President of Production for New Regency at 20th Century Fox, and before that at Lionsgate Entertainment. Today he leverages the same diligent work ethic, cooperative spirit, and skillset to generate results for his clients.
Always striving to offer the best possible representation and a competitive edge, Jonathan frequently collaborates with fellow agents to share information about listings not yet released to the public and regularly partners with The Agency's in-house creative team to implement innovative marketing strategies. "I love what I do," he says, "Identifying houses for discerning clients is fun, as is finding new ways to present a property. But negotiating a deal is still my favorite part of any transaction."
When he's not working on behalf of his clients, Jonathan pours his energy into his active lifestyle and activism. He enjoys traveling, skiing, surfing, running, swimming, golfing, exploring the LA food scene and spending time at the beach with his rescue dog, Luna.
